Experience an Engaged Audience
Have you ever walked away from a conference or meeting and felt subject to death by Power Point? Or gone to a conference to network and feel that you meet less than 10 key contacts? It doesn’t have to be that way.
What sets me apart from other speakers is my ability to engage and facilitate large group discussions. Here is the reality, everyone in attendance has some area of expertise. The predominant meeting and conference format does little to tap into all the experience and expertise in the room. This is such a missed opportunity.
Let’s reinvision your meeting or conference
Imagine your key note facilitator setting the stage for an interactive and engaging meeting. All participants are sitting at round tables. As the key note presents information about the state of the industry, instead of just showing statistics and graphs and telling the audience what they show, the key note acknowledges the intelligence in the room and ask the participants to share with each other at their tables how they are using the information provided in the graphs to make decisions about their programs. Perhaps the key note asks participants to discuss how the concept just shared would change they way they work or the product they offer. Amazing conversations begin to happen at each table. Knowledge is being shared. Ideas are coming to live. Heads are collectively brainstorming, learning and growing. Then the key note interrupts to ask tables to share their main action items, takeaways, or points of discussion. More aha moments occur around the room as people listen. This is what an engaged audience collectively can experienced with a skilled large group facilitator.
Certainly your meeting can have other speakers who share key information. It is always good to have subject matter experts share their knowledge. Then leverage the large group facilitator to create activities that drive the table conversations to a new level of engagement and knowledge. Your attendees will walk way saying this was the best meeting or conference they ever attended. The evaluations will show they walked away with additional knowledge, immediately actionable items, and a much larger network.
Dr. Loyo presented the state of HIV in Texas. Instead of just standing up there and talking about the stats, she engaged all of us in group discussions about how we used the information to make decisions about our programs. I got some great ideas from other attendees and made more contacts that ever before.
Facilitated Meetings
I can facilitate your meetings and help you meet your objectives. We will start by understanding the objectives of the meeting, the audience, and any special dynamics that may be at play. Together we will come up with the objectives and plan specific questions to ask during each one of the sessions. I will help you understand why we are strategically organizing each activity and what each one is meant to accomplish. Then I will facilitate your meeting and engage your audience. I am available to facilitate meetings of any length with groups from 4-250 people.
Speaker Facilitation Coaching
I recognize that many conferences and meetings use multiple subject matter experts to help convey information. I can work with your selected speakers to develop engaging interactive activities that will bring home the key points and encourage attendees to get to know each other.
Do more than just poll your audience. Develop strategic activities and structured questions to get them having meaningful conversations. I can work with each speaker to help them develop a strategic series of activities and implement them skillfully.
